Street Feet is the foot health program offered Tuesdays during drop-in hours at Sunshine House. The program provides much-needed foot care to members of the surrounding community and people who use our space. Foot health services are provided by a specially trained Registered Nurse.
Foot care is important as foot health issues can quickly and easily escalate into more serious concerns, especially for people who are on their feet a lot, don’t always have access to proper footwear and socks, and who may have complicating conditions like diabetes.
Some things we can help assist with include: nail trimming, callus reduction, athlete’s foot, fungal infection, warts, psoriasis, and ingrown nails. We do not do wound care. If there is a reason other than a wound that someone’s feet are hurting, our nurse, Walter, can probably help, or we can recommend a pathway to care.
